Homeless woman arrested in deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS --  A woman is under arrest in connection with a deadly shooting Wednesday night.

Metro Police arrested 30-year-old Marjorie Fiora shortly after the shooting at a home near Maryland Parkway and Charleston Boulevard. Police were called to the home at around 6 p.m. about an argument that turned into a shooting.

Detectives said Fiora was known to the victim and was allowed to stay in the backyard of the home. The victim, who was the homeowner, was in the house, while Fiora and two other family members were in the backyard. Witnesses told police Fiora went into the home and a short time later they heard a loud bang.

Fiora ran from the home and the family members found the victim inside.

The homeowner, whose name isn't being released at this time, was taken to University Medical Center where he later died.

Police dogs found Fiora in the backyard of a home next door to the victim's house.

This is said to be the 88th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
