Hoover Dam Bridge Reopens to Traffic

LAS VEGAS -- The Hoover Dam bridge has reopened after traffic between Nevada and Arizona  came to a standstill as police dealt with a man threatening to jump from the bypass bridge.

The Nevada Highway Patrol closed the O'Callaghan-Tillman bypass bridge, as well as traffic on the dam access road, while the situation was addressed.

The man jumped to his death about 12:30 p.m., according to a spokesman for the federal Bureau of Reclamation. His body has been recovered from the water.

This is the third suicide from the bridge this year.
