Husband of Las Vegas victim from Massachusetts speaks out

TEWKSBURY, Mass. - The husband of a Massachusetts woman who was among the 58 people killed in the shooting at a Las Vegas country music festival says his wife was a "sweet and self-sacrificing" woman who spent her life spreading the Bible's message.

Jason LaRocque said in a statement read by a family member on Thursday that his 42-year-old wife, Rhonda, was among the first people struck by gunfire that came from the 32nd floor of a nearby hotel on Oct. 1.

He said she was still breathing when she was brought to the hospital and he was by her side for the entire two hours before she died.

Jason LaRocque also thanked the myriad people who have helped the family both in Las Vegas and in their hometown of Tewksbury.
