In up tempo affair, Maple Leafs clip Golden Knights in shootout 4-3

Toronto, ON. - Picked my many experts as Stanley Cup Contenders, the Toronto Maple Leafs used their depth, youth, and skill to overtake the Golden Knights 4-3 in a shootout Monday night.

It was the first ever shootout for the expansion franchise with the Knights falling to 1-4-1 on their east coast road trip.

The Toronto goals came from James van Riemsdyk and two from Nazem Kadri.

Deryk Engelland, Really Smith and James Neal added to his team leading 8th goal to pace Vegas.

The Knights play the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday to conclude the six-game road trip and return home Friday night to host the Winnipeg Jets.
