Independence Day fireworks trigger air quality advisory

LAS VEGAS -- An air quality advisory has been issued for Friday night and all-day Saturday because of the elevated levels of smoke and ozone from Independence Day fireworks.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality issued the advisory because smoke is filled with small dust particles and other pollutants which can aggravate respiratory diseases. It also leads to ground-level ozone that is contributor to smog.

Detailed air quality conditions can be found at the Department of Air Quality website.
