I-Team: Cell phone bandits take deal

LAS VEGAS — Two thieves caught by I-Team cameras take a deal in court. You may remember when I-Team cameras confronted a woman caught trying to sell stolen cell phones in February. 

The district attorney's office cut a deal with both women 8 News NOW caught on camera selling stolen property. You might remember Jennifer Somogyi peeling out of the parking lot with Chastidy Paulino in the passenger seat. It was just minutes before they tried selling stolen cell phones.

The owner of one of those phones tracked down both women after his delivery was stolen from his front door. The I-Team was able to track down video of other home burglaries appearing to show both Somogyi and Paulino.

It was tips from 8 News NOW viewers that helped police find and arrest both women, who were arrested on larceny and conspiracy charges.

The I-Team learned Paulino plead guilty to misdemeanor possession of stolen property. Somogyi accepted a felony plea deal for attempted theft. 

Police say Somogyi was the leader of the two-woman theft ring. A judge will decide if she faces a sentence up to 4 years and a $5,000 fine.
