Las Vegas, NV - Wed's child features an adoptable brother/sister pair today.
You'll also meet the person who's been the one constant in their lives for the last two year: Their CASA volunteer.
At the McKee ranch, there's no shortage of 4-footed, furry, and sometimes funny-looking farm animals. Kody and Kaylie are city kids, but didn't seem intimidated at all as they made the rounds in the farmyard.
"I used to take them to visit each other every Sunday," says Becky, their foster mother.
Becky, their foster mother, recently got them both together in her home. A relief to both Kody and Kaylie who do best with each other. Becky sees in the kids - great potential.
"I think they have the capabilities of being two of the finest children, young adults, and adults that you’re going to be able to find," adds Becky.
"I’m retired .... So I volunteer for a lot of things and this is really pretty much the most rewarding."
Dona, their CASA worker, who's known them two years, has the same impression of the pair.
"And I just can’t say enough about the two of them in their interaction together. All they’ve had in the last two years is each other," adds Dona.
Kody is 10. Bright and courteous, and doing very well in school.
"He’s a great little kid. He’s very polite. And he wants to please," admits Dona.
But his 7-yr-old sister is the sparkplug.
"Well Kaylee says a little social butterfly i’m quite sure that one of these days she’s going to rule the world," says Dona with a twinkle.
"They’re super adorable and super sweet kids," adds Liz, the DFS Case Worker for the two children.
Liz is their DFS caseworker who is trying hard to find them the right home.
"Preferably someone with two parents, someone who can take the time to dedicate to these kids and work really hard with them," adds Liz.
"You just have to love them, take care of them, support them. Be very consistent with them. Incredibly consistent. And they just, their thriving," says Becky.
Kody and Kaylie are ready for a loving home. If you're the one, call the Adoption Exchange at 702-436-6335 now.
