Las Vegas Man Arrested in Boyfriend's Killing

LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man is facing a murder charge in the death of his roommate. Metro Police arrested 36-year-old Alexander Allen Monday night.

Allen's roommate was found dead in the apartment the two shared on Feb. 8. Police said the body was wrapped in multiple layers of plastic bags. Earlier that day, a constable had gone to the apartment to evict the two men. Police said, when the constable arrived at the apartment near Decatur Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, Allen ran off.

A dog was discovered in a locked bedroom and animal control was called to remove the dog. According to police, the animal control officer discovered the wrapped body in the bedroom. Large amounts of blood were discovered in the bathroom, along with a bloody hammer, police said.

The coroner identified the dead man as 41-year-old Conrad Barrios and listed his cause of death as strangulation and blunt force trauma. According to police, the two men were involved in a dating relationship and had lived in the apartment since January.
