LOS ANGELES -- A man reportedly wanted for attempted murder in Las Vegas was captured after a brief chase in Los Angeles on Monday morning.

Las Vegas Metro Police announced late Monday Evans Carter Tutt III was taken into custody in L.A.

According to KABC-TV, the incident began as a chase in the Wilshire District of Los Angeles around 10 a.m. after officers tried to stop Tutt. Investigators searched for a weapon hey might have tossed out of the car during the chase, the station reported.

Metro says Tutt does not have criminal history in Las Vegas. He's wanted on first-degree kidnapping, domestic battery with use of a deadly weapon, child abuse and other felony warrants, according to the Las Vegas Justice Court.
