LAS VEGAS - (The second part of the interview is below)

Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos, who was shot in the leg by gunman Stephen Paddock, gave his first interview to Ellen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Campos is credited with being the first to notify others of Paddock's location on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel on Oct. 1, the night Paddock shot and killed 58 people and injured 546 from his hotel room windows. The people were attending the outdoor Route 91 Harvest Festival music concert.

Campos was headed to the 32nd floor to check on door alarm. He was using the stairwell from the 31st floor. He said, when he came to the stairwell door on the 32nd floor, it would not open, allowing him access. "So, I had to reroute," Campos said.

When he got to the 32nd floor, he checked the stairwell door from the other side.

"There was a metal bracket holding the door in place," he said. "That was out of the ordinary." Campos also heard what sounded like drilling sounds.

He contacted security and engineer Stephen Schuck began heading to the 32nd floor.

Campos said, as he was walking down the hallway, he came under "rapid fire" and felt a burning sensation in his leg.

"I went to lift my pant leg up and I saw the blood. That's when I went to call it in on my radio that shots had been fired."

Schuck then arrived on the 32nd floor. Initially, it was quiet and then he heard the gunshots. Campos shouted for him to take cover.
