Las Vegas showgirl celebrates her 90th and more

LAS VEGAS - A former Las Vegas showgirl received a special celebration on Fremont Street over the weekend.

Gloria Mancilla Batter, known by her stage name Gloria White, was inducted into the Las Vegas Entertainers Hall of Fame as the first showgirl in history.

She also happened to be celebrating her 90th birthday.

In her 65 years in the Las Vegas valley, she has seen Las Vegas grow from a small oasis in the desert to the global landmark it is today.

She worked with big name Strip headliners like Sammy David Jr. and Frank Sinatra and even had three dates with Howard Hughes.

She said he was the perfect gentleman.

Some other favorite memories include going to breakfast with the Rat Pack after her shift and spending time at the classic Strip landmarks like the Flamingo, the Dunes and the Stardust.
