Legislative Public Forum Today on Hepatitis C Scare

Officials are making arrangements to accommodate a large number of people who may want to testify before the Legislative Committee on Health Care at its public meeting on Monday, March 24.

The meeting will be just for public testimony on the recent Hepatitis C scare. Nearly 40,000 people were told they need to be tested for Hepatitis C and HIV as the result of unsafe medical practices at medical centers in Clark County.

In addition to the regular committee meeting room at the Grant Sawyer Building in Las Vegas, five other rooms will be available for any overflow crowds. The meeting will be teleconferenced between Las Vegas and Carson City and people can view or listen to the hearing on the Internet by logging onto the legislative website.

Those wanting to testify will be asked to sign in and will be given a number based on the order in which they signed in. Testimony will be limited to three to five minutes.

The meeting will be held Monday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Las Vegas.
