Local Muslim leaders aim to 'Make America Great' with compassion

LAS VEGAS - Local Islamic leaders say they hope to send a peaceful message to the Las Vegas community using three billboards around the valley.

The billboards read "Making America great with love, compassion & mercy." The Al-Maun Neighborly Needs of Las Vegas is sponsoring the message.

The billboards are at three locations:

  • W. Flamingo Road near Dean Martin Drive
  • I-15 near W. Ford Ave
  • Boulder Highway near Dalhart Street

“Helping to meet our neighbors’ needs through service is a core principle of Islam,” said Imam Fateen Seifullah, the Al-Maun Chairman in a press release.  “Everyone can help to make America great by working together to solve problems and by showing compassionate concerns for all Americans.”

According to the organization, the mission of Al-Maun Neighborly Needs of Las Vegas is to address the needs of the community and help improve conditions of families, children, senior citizens, veterans, and the homeless.
