HENDERSON, Nev. -- A man is facing charges after police said he drove his car into a Henderson church Wednesday morning.
According to Henderson Police, Kevin Wilson, 51, of Las Vegas was upset that he could not immediately speak with a pastor at the Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive.
At about 5 a.m., he plowed his car into the entrance of the church and continued driving inside the building, police said.
At one point, he got out of his car, smashed furniture and knocked holes in the walls. He then got back into his car and kept driving down a hallway, causing more damage.
The incident caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage; however, a building inspector said there is no structural damage to the building.
Wilson was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on burglary and destruction of property charges.
Police said the suspect went to the church several times Tuesday demanding to meet with church officials.
Church officials said scheduled gatherings and services will not change throughout the week and the weekend.
