LAS VEGAS -- A man has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and death of a 37-year-old man whose body was found near Pecos Road and Owens Avenue April 10.
Police arrested Jonathan Anthony Reyes, 23, on Thursday after witnesses told police Reyes was with another man, Eric Orduna, who had beaten Abraham Mathews to death.
Reyes is facing several charges, including first degree kidnapping, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon and murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Orduna on the same charges.
According to the arrest report, witnesses told detectives that Mathews had been killed because he owed Orduna money for drugs.
The Clark County Coroner's Office determined that Mathews died from blunt force trauma to the head and appeared to have been beaten. His death was ruled a homicide.
