Man arrested in homicide

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police make an arrest in a homicide near downtown.

It happened around 9 Saturday Morning in the 200 block of North 9th Street, near Fremont.

When officers and medical personnel arrived, they found a man in a nearby apartment complex, bleeding from a stab wound to the leg. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died.

During their preliminary investigation, detectives found a second man, 22-year-old Timothy Stall. He and the victim were roommates at the time.

Investigators say the men were involved in a verbal fight which later turned physical. During the struggle, they say Stall threw a large piece of broken glass at the victim and struck him on the leg.

Stall was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of murder with a use of a deadly weapon.

This is the 73rd homicide investigated by Metro Police so far this year.
