Man Arrested in Nevada for 2011 Murder Case

BULLHEAD CITY, Az. -- A suspect is behind bars facing charges in a murder case that happened two years ago.

Chase Salveson, 42, was arrested in Laughlin, Nevada on Aug. 31 on a felony homicide warrant. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center where he is awaiting extradition.

Raymond Sanchez's body was found in Aug. 2011 near the entrance of the Colorado River Nature Center. Sanchez had been stabbed more than 80 times and was wrapped in a plastic shower curtain.

An anonymous tip led police to Salveson. According to police, Sanchez was killed because he was blamed for stealing a large amount of methamphetamine from drug dealer Nora Sandoval. Police learned Salveson allegedly sold drugs for Sandoval and was in debt to her.

Sandoval is a wanted fugitive. In Sept. 2012, she failed to appear for her jury trial where she was found guilty of selling methamphetamine. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Bullhead City Police at (928)763-9200 ext. 220.
