Man Dead After Losing Control of Motorcycle Saturday Night

LAS VEGAS -- A 41-year-old male is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a set of guy wires anchoring a power poll late Saturday night.

Metro investigators say the accident happened around 11:40 p.m. near Bonanza Road and 7th Street.

Evidence at the scene and witnesses say the 2000 Harley Davidson was riding eastbound on Bonanza approaching a bend in the roadway. The rider lost control and ran off the right side of the road near 7th Street. The motorcycle continued eastbound through a vacant lot and struck the guy wires.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 12th traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
