Man identified in triple shooting

LAS VEGAS -- The coroner's office has identified the man killed in a triple shooting near Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road around 11 a.m. Friday.

According to Metro police, 54-year old Michael Thomas McCarthy was shot and killed. Two women were also shot, both are in critical condition, one was taken to University Medical Center and the other was taken to Sunrise Hospital. A fourth person was also hurt in connection with the shooting, but police are not sure if she was hit by a bullet or by debris.

Police say two men walked into a home in the area and asked for someone who lives there. They were told he was not there, at which point, they fired at the people in the home.

"They knocked on the door. The door was opened for them. They were looking for an individual they find out that individual wasn't there and then for unknown reasons gun shots rang out," Metro Police Lt. Ray Steiber said.

Homicide detectives are on the scene. There is no information about a suspect.
