Man killed in east Las Vegas, Metro searches for suspect

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police investigated early Monday morning the homicide of a man in east Las Vegas.

According to Metro, officers were dispatched to the 5800 block of East Carey Avenue at the request of the Clark County Fire Department around 7:05 a.m.  The fire department received a call of a possible injured person inside of a condemned structure. 

Responding medical personnel found a dead man suffering from injuries. The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates the man, identified by the Clark County Coroner as 35-year-old Danny Contreras, had been shot in the upper torso several times. 

As of this release, there are no suspects in custody, and the motive is unknown.
