Man Killed When Car Falls on Him

LAS VEGAS -- A 32-year-old Las Vegas man is dead after a car fell on him while he was working to repair it.

The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home near Walnut Road and Gowan Road.

According to Metro Police, the victim was working under on a 2000 Saturn sedan in the driveway of the home, when the jack that was supporting the car slipped. The left front rotor fell on the man's chest.

People in the home tried to help and lift the car off the man's chest. The victim was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The case is under investigation. The man's identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
