Man runs off with cash following bank robbery near Tropicana and Maryland Parkway

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police investigated a bank robbery near E. Tropicana Avenue and S. Maryland Parkway Friday evening.

According to officers, around 4:59 p.m a man walked into the Bank of America located at 4795 S. Maryland Parkway near UNLV and demanded money.  Metro said the man handed the teller a note that said he had a bomb.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area.

The only description police released of the suspect is that he's a white man in his 30's.  Metro Police said further investigation into the bomb threat revealed that it wasn't legit.

No one was hurt, and the FBI was notified.

Authorities are still investigating.
