Memorial Service Held in Las Vegas For Baby Doe

Hundreds of people gathered Sunday night at a memorial service for Baby Jane Cordova Doe. Police discovered the toddler's body in a dumpster more than a week ago. The community united to remember the young girl and to ask her killer to come forward.

This mystery has really captured the valley's attention. The memorial just outside the dumpster where the girl was found is growing impressively. Just as impressive is the number of people at a memorial service dedicated in her memory.

The theme of Baby Jane Cordova Doe's memorial service was -- in loving memory of who touched our hearts. And clearly the toddler's death impacted many. Hundreds packed the United Pentecostal Church of Las Vegas. Different generations, people from all walks of life and children about Baby Jane Doe's age all prayed for her.

Pastor David Jimenez said, "She has to have some family, an uncle, a friend, someone who knows her and that is what we are praying for tonight."

Robin Pogue performed a song for the Baby Doe. Pogue just moved to Las Vegas from Tennessee where a boy there was found nearly the same way as Doe. "I just hope they're found, that if they are running and afraid I just wish they would come forth and put closure."

John Mann said, "I wish it didn't happen to her. John Mann went to the service. He says he wishes somehow he could have stopped the murder. "I have a little girl the same age. This hit home, hit my heart."

More than 200 leads have been generated in this case, but so far no luck in finding the killer. In the meantime, people and children are praying for answers and wondering why Baby Jane Cordova Doe was never given a chance to grow up.

Police are not giving up on this case. Baby Jane Cordova Doe's story ran on America's Most Wanted Saturday night and the hope is that it will generate more leads.
