Metro, family ask for help in solving teen's murder

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police and family members of 18-year-old Eric Brooks are asking the public for help in solving Brooks' murder.

He was found shot to death at a small community park on June 30, 2017. The park is located at Vintage Wine Avenue and Seelinger Street near Pebble Road and El Capitan Way.

According to his girlfriend, he went to meet someone but never returned home. His body was later found in the park.

Police believe the motive for Brooks' killing was robbery. His backpack and phone had been taken from him. Police say he was seen getting into a dark-colored Kia SUV and there were gunshots heard. He was later pushed out of the vehicle into the park.

"You took a lot from us. I can't sleep at night," said Chris Jackson, Eric's mother. "It's so hard for me. If you know something please call, please say something."

Anyone with information is urged to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521 or to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
