Metro investigates 2 homicides within 40 minutes of each other

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police investigated two homicides Friday night, and they happened within 40 minutes of each other.

The first shooting happened in the 7400 block of W. Lake Mead Boulevard.  According to Metro Police, around 7:08 p.m. officers received a call about a shooting at a storage unit facility. Metro says an onsite manager caught an intruder trying to break into one of the units and shot the male suspect.

The shooter is being detained, questioned, and is cooperating with police. 

The second shooting happened around 7:49 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 4000 block of E. Bonanza Road. Metro said the victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to University Medical Center where the victim was pronounced dead. 

Police are still searching for the suspect in this incident.
