A 22-year-old man is dead following a fight with his father.

It happened around 3:50 p.m. Friday at a home on Keifer Valley Street near Cimarron Road and Mountain's Edge Parkway.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Devry Moore from Las Vegas.

Police said a fight erupted between Moore and his 40-year-old father. The fight escalated, and Moore tabbed the man four times.

The elder man was armed with a gun, and he shot and killed Moore.

"It's hard to understand how something like this could happen so I don't know if there is an explanation for how somebody could get to that level," said Metro Police Lt. Dan McGrath.

The father was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Metro says there were six or seven other people in the home at the time. They were unharmed.

Family members say the teen and man had a bad relationship.

Police have not ruled out criminal charges for the father.
