Metro officer hurt in crash

LAS VEGAS -- A Metro Police officer suffered minor injuries in a crash involving his patrol car and two other cars Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, at around 5:30 p.m., a truck ran a red light at Torrey Pines Drive and Vegas Drive and hit a car. That second car then ricocheted into the Metro patrol car.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with head injuries; however, his condition is not known. Police say alcohol could have played a role in the crash, but it is still under investigation.

No roads are closed because of the crash.
