Metro Officer Relieved of Duty

LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer has been relieved of duty after pleading guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance.

Officer Ramin Amely was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and obtaining multiple prescriptions without disclosure.

He pled guilty to the charges and will accept the plea agreement in a court appearance scheduled for September.

Amely was employed at the department since May 2007.
