Metro Officers Involved in Deadly Shooting Identified

LAS VEGAS --Metro Police have released the identities of the two officers involved in a deadly shooting on Friday.

The officers involved in the Feb. 8 shooting were 34-year-old Joseph Parra and 50-year-old Scott Thomas.

The officers shot a suspect who was wanted in connection with an attempted murder. According to Metro Police, the officers were responding to a tip and when they confronted the suspect, he pulled out a gun and fired several times of the officers before he was shot.

Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave until the case is reviewed.

This is the second officer involved shooting for Parra. He shot a man wielding a knife in 2010.
