Metro Police released Tuesday the mug shot photo of one of its officers who was arrested for prostitution.
8 News NOW has confirmed with Metro Police that Officer Bryce Jones was arrested two months ago on prostitution-related charges.
Metro Police said it first received word that one of its officers was soliciting prostitutes in August 2015. Detectives with the Criminal Intelligence Section immediately began an investigation. However, Jones wasn't arrested until Oct. 11.
The 36-year-old was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail.
He faces two misdemeanor charges of:
- Loitering for the Purpose of Prostitution
- Soliciting/Engaging in Prostitution
Jones has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Jones has been employed with the LVMPD since Feb. 2004 and is currently assigned to the Tourist Safety Division, Downtown Area Command.
Metro says no further information will be released at this time due to an ongoing internal and criminal investigation.
