Metro releases name of officer who shot suspect

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released the name of the officer involved in a shooting on Sunday that left a suspect injured.

Sergeant James Oaks, 42, shot DeAnthony Brown following a vehicle chase. Police say Brown pulled a handgun on Oaks prompting him to fire his weapon.

Police attempted to stop Brown, and his passenger Kevin Lay Jr., to question them about an earlier shooting.

Brown suffered non life-threatening injuries.
