Metro releases surveillance video of suspect in Good Samaritan killing

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police released surveillance video in hopes that the images on it will lead authorities to the person responsible for shooting and killing a Good Samaritan on Dec. 1, 2017.

The incident happened around 1:05 p.m. at the intersection of Holly Avenue and Allen Lane.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who was unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  

Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.

During Metro Police's investigation detectives discovered that the victim was shot trying to stop a man who had allegedly robbed someone on Melody Lane and Rancho Drive.  The suspect, who was armed with a handgun was riding by on a bicycle when he fired multiple rounds that struck the victim twice. 

The shooting occurred near 1916 Allen Lane. The suspect was described as a black male adult, between the ages of 20 and early 30’s, with facial hair, wearing a black zip-up hoodie and black jeans. 

The suspect was last seen as he jumped a wall into the Portola Del Sol Apartments at 1915 Simmons Street.
