Metro: Teen hit by car on Jan. 20 has died

LAS VEGAS - The teen hit by a car on Jan. 20 died Friday morning, Metro Police said.

Jazaya Williams has been identified as the victim, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.  However, the cause of the 15-year-old's death wasn't released.

Metro Police said on Jan. 20, at approximately 5:48 p.m. Jazaya was struck by a Fiat at the intersection of W. Vegas Drive and N. Cimarron Road.  Metro's investigation revealed that the teen was crossing in the crosswalk, from south to north, when she was hit by the car driven by 71-year-old James Long. 

The driver did not show any signs of impairment, Metro said.  However, the collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.

Jazaya's death marked the 10th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2017.
