Middle school student arrested for bringing gun to school

LAS VEGAS - A student within the Clark County School District was arrested by school police Wednesday for bringing a gun to school.

According to authorities, Clark County School Police received the tip that the student had the gun around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Clifford O'Findlay Middle School in North Las Vegas was briefly placed on a lockdown while officers investigated.

An 8th grader was caught with a handgun and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.

No one was hurt, and there weren't any threats made to any of the students or staff.

The identity of the student hasn't been released.
