Couple in Illinois child death case appear in Las Vegas courts

LAS VEGAS - Jason Quate appeared in court Monday to face felony child abuse charges but the case was continued until Friday because more charges could be filed against Quate.

He was in court Friday on charges that he forced his wife into prostitution.

Elizabeth O'Dell Quate told a judge Monday that she won't fight her return in custody to Belleville, Illinois to face a felony charge.

Illinois officials have charged the couple with concealing their young daughter's death. A body was found in a garage at an abandoned home and is believed to the couple's daughter who died in 2013, when she was 6. Two older children were removed from the couple's home in Las Vegas.

Elizabeth Quate hasn't been charged with a crime in Las Vegas.
