Motorcyclist killed in crash near 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign ID'd by coroner

LAS VEGAS - The identity of the motorcyclist killed Thursday in a crash on the Las Vegas Strip was released Friday.

The Clark County Coroner's office said Jose Carlos Torres-Martinez, 38, of Las Vegas was killed in a collision with a  limousine at S. Las Vegas Boulevard and W. Russell Road.

Metro said the limo that was carrying passengers was exiting at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign when a motorcyclist traveling southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard collided with the limousine. The motorcyclist appeared to overturn on its right side before hitting the limo.  The rider of the motorcycle was thrown from his bike into the southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard.

Police are still investigating witness reports of a possible third vehicle that hit the motorcyclist.  Police said the limousine driver's right turn was legal.

Metro Police are still investigating.
