Multi-State Search for 'Armed and Dangerous' Suspect

LAS VEGAS -- Nearly 36 hours after a shooting and horrific car crash on the Las Vegas Strip, police are still searching for the responsible gunman.

Metro Police and the Nevada Highway Patrol report being flooded with phone calls from people who believe they have seen the suspect's vehicle. Police report they have new leads but are not releasing that information at this time.

"As you can imagine, we've received quite bit of phone calls and tips from concerned citizens and I think that's the message. We want to continue to push that message and let everyone know to please report the information that you have," said Metro Police Officer Jose Hernandez.

Police are looking for a newer model Range Rover with black rims, tinted windows and paper dealer's plate instead of a license plate. Sheriff Doug Gillespie said the occupants of the vehicle should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects, described as several black men, fled the Las Vegas Strip after firing several rounds at aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. A cab driver and his passenger also died when Cherry struck their vehicle causing it to explode. In all, six cars were involved in the crash.

Law enforcement in California, Arizona and Utah are also looking for the vehicle.
