LAS VEGAS - Local leaders gathered as Wells Fargo announced it is donating $5.5 million towards affordable housing.
The program is called, "NeighborhoodLIFT," and gives eligible home buyers the chance to apply for a matching down payment assistance grant worth up to $7,500.
The mayor of Henderson says this is going to help a lot of people who otherwise could never afford it.
"With that partnership, I know that there are going to be struggling families that will now be able to afford a home, get into a home, enjoy the pride of home ownership, and really enjoy the American dream," said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen.
If you'd like to see if you're eligible for one of these grants, Wells Fargo is holding an open house March 3rd and 4th inside the Flamingo Sunset Ballroom from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. You can register online. Walk-ins are also welcome.
