LAS VEGAS -- Nevada Democrats had a much better July than their Republican counterparts when it came to increasing their number of active registered voters.
Data from the Nevada Secretary of State's office shows that Democrats statewide increased their active voter registration by 8,121 last month, more than double the 3,705 added by Republicans. Even nonpartisan numbers rose by more than those for Republicans, with 4,946 added in July.
Similar trends were reported in Clark County, where Democrats added 7,724 active registered voters versus only 2,887 for Republicans. Nonpartisan registration in the county increased by 4,005.
Totals for July show that among active registered voters statewide, 451,066 were Democrats, 402,471 were Republicans and 180,366 were nonpartisan. In Clark County the numbers were 324,737 Democrats, 238,534 Republicans and 122,764 nonpartisan voters.
