Nevada Little League team heads to World Series

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- For the first time since its inception in 1947, a Nevada team is heading to the Little League World Series.

The Mountain Ridge Little League team took on Pacifica American from Northern California in San Bernardino Saturday evening.

The Las Vegas team scored 9 runs in the first inning, sending 12 batters to the plate. The final score was 11-2.

The team is now one of eight teams heading to Williamsport, Pa. to participate in the Little League World Series starting Aug. 14.
