NHP investigating fatal car wreck near Red Rock Canyon

Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly overnight wreck near the entrance of Red Rock Canyon.

According to NHP, a Chevy Tahoe was driving along SR 159 just before 2:30 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car rolled over several times.

The driver, Audrianna Sapp, 23, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected out of the SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 25-year-old passenger was wearing a seatbelt. She was transported to UMC and is in serious condition, according to officials.

Troopers don't believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

This is the second fatal car wreck in the past three days for NHP where someone was not wearing a seatbelt.
