Nevada Highway Patrol is responding to a deadly crash in the southern part of the valley. The crash happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. at Decatur Boulevard and Wagon Trail Avenue, south of Sunset Road.

NHP says a 27-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Decatur, when he rode off the road and into a dirt area. He was ejected from bike.

Emergency crews took him to University Medical Center, where he later died.

One witness reported the man was driving recklessly before the crash, according to NHP. It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors.

The area near the crash scene will remain closed to traffic during Nevada Highway Patrol's investigation.
