Ninth Person Pleads Guilty in HOA Fraud Scheme

LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man is the latest to plead guilty for his role in a scheme to fraudulently gain control of condominium homeowners' associations.

Daniel Solomon pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Lloyd George on one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.

Solomon admitted that from Jan. 2006 to Feb. 2009, he took part in a scheme to control various HOA boards so that the HOA boards would award the handling of construction related lawsuits and construction contracts to a specific law firm and construction company.

Solomon admitted he acted as a straw purchaser at the Vistana condominium complex. Solomon's co-conspirators provided the down payments and monthly payments for the property.
