NLV Police Union Votes No Confidence in City Manager

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A police union in North Las Vegas voted unanimously on a vote of no confidence in the leadership of North Las Vegas City Manager Tim Hacker.

The vote Friday comes after a vote by the city council Wednesday to institute a second emergency declaration, which will help fix the city's financial issues.

The declaration forces unions to concede to the city's demands on contracts, including salary limits and benefit changes.

The North Las Vegas Police Supervisors Association represents police, corrections, marshal sergeants and lieutenants. It has already filed a motion for a temporary restraining order for the second declaration.

In a news release Friday afternoon, the union also said it was looking at contacting the federal Justice Department to investigate.
