Early-morning fire leaves $150,000 in damages

LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Fire Rescue responded to an early-morning fire northwest of Downtown Las Vegas.

Firefighters received multiple 911 calls at 1:19 a.m. to a home on Leonard Avenue and N. G Street. When they arrived, a one-story home was in engulfed. The home was vacant.

Many of the walls and ceiling pieces were missing, which made the fire spread quickly. It took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. One person on the scene said he was a relative of the owner and kept watch on the house. Officials say the home could have been used by squatters.

The one-story home suffered heavy damage and is considered a total loss. Damage is estimated at approximately $150,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
