No Schoolchildren Aboard Bus That Hit Building

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Las Vegas police say it doesn't appear any passengers were aboard a Clark County School District bus that hit a car and struck a building in Las Vegas.

Police say first responders were called to the scene after the crash about 9:15 a.m. Thursday on Tropicana Avenue, near Cameron Street. The driver was injured and transported to University Medical Center. Her condition is unknown but she was alert and talking to rescuers after the crash.

CCSD officials said the bus was coming from Batterman Elementary School, which is located in the southwest part of the valley.

The crash involved a car and the bus. The bus also struck the wall of a restaurant.
