Not Guilty Plea Entered by 2 Accused in Las Vegas Shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 21-year-old Arizona woman and her boyfriend pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony charges in a Christmas week shooting that critically wounded a motorist on the Las Vegas Strip.

A Nevada state court judge set a May 12 trial date for Brittanie Merritt-Burwell on attempted murder, battery with a weapon and shooting into a vehicle charges.

Joshua Youngblood faces a concealed weapon charge.

Merritt-Burwell is accused of shooting another motorist in the neck late Dec. 23 in a traffic dispute and then giving the gun to Youngblood.

The wounded motorist was treated for critical injuries at University Medical Center.

Merritt-Burwell is from Glendale, Ariz. She could face decades in prison if she's convicted.

Youngblood didn't provide a home address.

They were arrested Dec. 30 at a Las Vegas fast-food restaurant.
