Metro Police has identified the officers involved in Wednesday's deadly shooting.
Police say 26-year-old Officer Kyle Prior, 26-year-old Officer Robert Nord, and 32-year-old Officer Donald Sutton III opened fire in the 3800 block of South Maryland Parkway.
Investigators say they shot a man after he tried to evade questioning at the French Oaks apartment complex.
Detectives say it all started with a failed traffic stop, then the suspect ran into the complex. As a security guard was escorting him off property, officers tried to question him. He then tried to run away, and police tried to use their taser on him. When that didn't work they say he pulled out a gun, and they opened fire.
Officer Prior has been on the force since July 2008. Officer Nord has been employed by LVMPD since March 2014, and Officer Sutton II has been with the department since November 2014.
All three are on routine paid administrative leave.
