Officers involved in shootout identified

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police has released the names of the officers involved in the shootout with the two people who killed two officers and a bystander during a shooting rampage Sunday.

Police say Officer Timothy Gross, Officer Zack Beal and Officer Brett Brosnahan were inside the Walmart store on Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. The exchanged gunfire with suspects Jerad and Amanda Miller.

Ofc. Gross is 49 years old and has been with the department since 1995. Ofc. Beal is 25 years old and has been with the department since 2007. Ofc. Brosnahan is 33 years old and has been with the department since 2009.

All three officers are on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the review of the event.

Metro announced Wednesday that an officer was responsible for killing suspect Jerad Miller, but they do not know which officer fired the fatal shot.
