One Dead Following Apartment Fire

LAS VEGAS - Clark County Fire Department officials confirm one person is dead following a fire at an apartment complex near Desert Inn Road and Cimarron Road.

The fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Monaco Park Apartments. Crews discovered a fire in one of the apartments and put the fire out shortly after arriving.

Soon after, crews uncovered the body of an elderly female.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Clark County Coroner's Office will identify the victim. The fire caused approximately $10,000 damage.
